Assistant/Associate/Professor of Surgical Oncology

The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, is seeking a board-certified general surgeon with a completed fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology with clinical experience in managing sarcoma and gastrointestinal cancer including peritoneal surface malignancy and HPB disease. This tenure-track faculty position will hold appointments at the Indiana University Health Adult Academic Health Center and the Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center.


This faculty position will be responsible for providing patient care, teaching residents and students in their specialty of surgical oncology and generating research activity. Appropriate candidates should have a track record of academic productivity as the IU Department of Surgery expects faculty to adhere to research expectations with potential to attain extramural research support. This is a full-time position with potential opportunity for a leadership role. Salary, research funding, and academic rank will be commensurate with past experience.


Job Requirements


MD or terminal degree required. Must have completed a Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship with extensive training in the management of gastrointestinal malignancies. Candidates must be board certified in general surgery.
