Stamford, CT – Stamford Health seeks an energetic, relational, growth-minded physician executive to serve as its next Chief, Section of Cardiac Surgery and Co-Director, Heart and Vascular Institute (Chief). This position offers an exceptional surgeon and leader the opportunity to join a high-quality, independent system and lead cardiac surgery in collaboration with the world renown Columbia University and is based in metropolitan New York City.

The Section of Cardiac Surgery at Stamford Health offers the highest quality patient care and modern surgical techniques to patients with heart disease. Through its collaboration with Columbia University, the Section's surgeons offer a suite of complex procedures. The Section has a dedicated, 24/7-staffed OR at Stamford Hospital and is supported by a top-notch, experienced, specialized team of nurses, perfusionists, technicians, and anesthesiologists. Stamford Health's facilities offer surgeons the latest technology and materials.

The Chief will lead and grow the Section in coordination with Columbia University with a focus on maintaining Stamford Health's reputation as a leader in quality and complex care. The successful candidate will create and execute on a vision of growth for the Section, ensuring it stays current with the latest advancements in medicine and in alignment with the strategic direction of Stamford Health. The Chief will be the spokesperson for the Section, expanding and developing referral relationships, growing cardiac surgery volume, and building a thriving program.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished leader and outstanding surgeon with an excellent track record, both clinically and administratively. The Chief will bring a strong skillset in programmatic building with an ability to set a vision and drive a diverse group of stakeholders towards that goal. They will be highly relational and able to engage and motivate. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of how to work within a complex community health system engaged in academic partnerships, and how to drive these collaborations. Candidates must have a medical degree from a well-reputed medical school and trained in top-ranked programs, be board certified through the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery), and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut.
