Community Surgeon – Staff
The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a full-time junior to mid-level community surgery position. Under the direction of the Division Chief of General Surgery and Department Vice Chair of Ambulatory Surgery, qualified candidates must hold an MD/DO and be board-eligible or certified in General Surgery and have completed an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency. They must be eligible for licensure in the State of California. Successful candidates will possess a clear interest in clinical work. Compensation is commensurate with AAMC standards. Candidates will provide evidence-based clinical care in general surgery in multiple satellite clinics and hospitals throughout the greater Los Angeles area. They will obtain staff and operating privileges at local sites. Candidates will join a growing community surgery group within the department. They are expected to clinically treat patients 5 days a week, inclusive of 2-3 operative days a week. They will also be expected to provide appropriate shared call coverage after hours, weekends, and holidays in the respective community hospitals. The candidate will be expected to cultivate relationships with referring physicians and colleagues in the area in order to grow the surgical service line. They will work closely with the UCLA medical community to offer state of the art, integrated surgical care to patients. The candidate will be expected to participate regularly in meetings and will also be encouraged to participate in UCLA clinical trials that are open at both the corresponding satellite sites and the main campus. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Salary offers are determined based on candidate qualifications and experience.
The full salary range for this position is $142,100-$348,100.

an MD/DO
Board-eligible or certified in General Surgery
Completion of an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency
