The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery, University of California, San Francisco is seeking outstanding candidates for an academic, solid organ transplant surgeon with proven experience in Health Sciences Research. Candidates must have completed an ASTS (American Society of Transplant Surgeons) approved fellowship or will complete the fellowship by August 2023. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Requirements include excellent clinical skills in transplantation, including experience in living donor liver transplantation and laparoscopic kidney donor procedures.


This position will be at the Assistant rank in the In Residence series.


This position will also allow for further development of a career in Health Sciences Research, with a potential for protected time to pursue high quality outcomes research. Demonstration of previous success in this area is essential, including a track record in securing grant funding and manuscript publication. The successful candidate will be expected to further pursue independent research funding.


Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s residency training and educational programs.
