The Division of General Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time breast surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure by reason of funding (WOT) or Associate Professor (WOT). Title, rank and salary is commensurate with experience. This position will have an annual service period of twelve months (July 1- June 30) with an expected start date in Spring or Summer 2022.
This position will be primarily based at UW Medical Center Montlake Campus, Northwest Campus, or Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, or some combination therein and will provide a spectrum of breast surgery services as well as participate in broader breast health multidisciplinary clinics. UW Medicine surgeons are expected to develop an area of scholarly expertise, as expected of every faculty member, in consultation with the Division and Section Chief. The University of Washington Medical Center is a nationally recognized academic medical center offering outstanding specialty and primary care. UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
Qualifications and Education
The successful candidate must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board eligible (or foreign equivalent) in surgery. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
