The Department of Surgery is recruiting for an exceptional Academic Plastic Surgeon to join our Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence, research experience, and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. Elective and emergency surgical practice will be based primarily at University Hospital and the attached American Family Children's Hospital, caring for both adults and children. This position will support the division in its efforts to grow priority clinical programs such as multidisciplinary pediatric craniofacial services, orthognathic surgery, microsurgical facial reconstruction, temporomandibular joint surgical care, and general plastic surgery services. Call responsibilities for plastic surgery patients will be shared with divisional colleagues. Interest in global surgery and global health is preferable. An interest in research is essential.
For those appointed to the CHS title track, academic responsibilities will include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Academic duties and responsibilities beyond baseline faculty expectations will depend on individual interests and expertise.
