Abdominal Organ Recovery Surgeons

The Department of Transplant at Mayo Clinic Florida is seeking two Abdominal Organ Recovery Surgeons to join our team. Each surgeon would be a full-time employee (FTE), but would split their time recovering abdominal organs (liver, kidney, and pancreas) for Mayo Clinic Department of Transplant in Jacksonville. The recover surgeon on call would be exclusively committed to the Department of Transplant. Call is 50% of the time. A trained surgeon with experience in organ donation and surgical organ recovery is required. You will collaborate with an experienced team of technicians and perfusionsits who will assist you each mission.

Experience in NRP (normothermic regional perfusion) and Machine perfusion preferred, but not required. Each surgeon is responsible for the safe dissection, recovery, and preparation of abdominal organs from both DBD and DCD donors as well as collaboration and innovation with the new transplant team. You will also provide guidance and work collaboratively with recovery technicians, perfustionsits, vendors, hospital and OPO staff.
